Summer Youth Art Classes, June & July 2014

In the Mary Anderson Arts Center of the McPherson Opera House

Classes are $25 (includes materials) – sponsored by McPherson Arts Alliance

Youth Metalsmithing Rings & Things

Have fun learning about Metalsmithing tools and how to create your own designs from metal and wire.

Instructor: Lori Martin-Price

Ages: 5th-9th graders

Maximum 12 students

Dates: June 23,24,26,27 (not the 25th) 2-3:30pm

 

 

Let’s Make a Puppet

Students will build a puppet with a variety of materials and craft techniques. Through this class, students will learn to incorporate materials and techniques and learn the skills of building a 3D structure.

Instructor: Shin-Hee Chin

Ages: 5th-9th graders

Maximum 12 students

Dates:June 30, July 1,2,3 10-12am

 

Portrait Party

Students will be provided with an opportunity to explore art and craft techniques based on Van Gogh, Matisse, Paul Klee and Andy Warhol with the objective of celebrating each child’s individuality, community and environment through art.

Instructor; Shin-Hee Chin

Ages: 5th -9th graders

Maximum 12 students

Dates: July 7,8,9,10 10:30am-12:30pm

 

Origami for Everyone

(Christmas in July)                                                                                                                       

Students will take a piece of flat paper and turn it into a three dimensional object.                                             This class is especially designed for beginners and by repeating the paper folding process they can build more complex designs.

Instructor: Shin-Hee Chin

Maximum 12 students

Ages 5th-9th graders

Date: July 1 1-4pm

Origami for Everyone II
